Frequently asked questions

Can I visit in person?

Yes, I have a studio on the Isle of Lewis open 10 till 5 monday to saturday year round. I am also happy to open out of hours by appointment, sundays not a problem! I love getting visitors so please pop by if you are passing!

How do I find you?

Heading out of Stornoway on the main road, you can either take the first turning, signposted to Grimshader and Ranish, or the second, a few miles further down the road signposted Lurbost and Crossbost. The first turning is a single track road which twists across the moor. It is very scenic with views across to the mountains of the mainland. On this road there are two splits, take the right hand fork each time. At the T-junction turn left, head down the hill and straight on up the road. Half way up this hill on the right hand side is my weaving shed and studio shop. The second turning is a straighter easier road, with some single and some double lanes and takes you through the traditional croft village of Leurbost and then Crossbost. Follow the road for around 3 miles, round the sharp left hand bend, keep going straight up and over a small hill, then up another. My weaving shed and studio shop is halfway up on the right hand side.

Can I see a weaving demonstration?

Yes, I weave in the back half of the shed and am happy to demostrate the process. I also have a window into the room so that people with sensitivity to noise can watch without it being so loud.
